한국과 일본 3년 만에 처음으로 정상회담이 개최되다.

한국의 박근혜 대통령과 일본의 아베 신조 총리는 얼굴을 맞대고 의견차이를 논의하기 위해 월요일 서울에서 만날 예정입니다. 

서울의 관계자에 따르면 양국정상은 3국 논의를 위해 일요일, 중국 부총리 리커창을 만날 예정이라고 말했습니다.

이것은 일본과 한국 정상의 3년만의 첫 번째 정상회담이 될 것입니다.

박근혜 대통령과 아베 총리는 취임한 이래로 국제적인 사건에서 만났지만, 하지만 이웃한 아시아 국가들 사이의 관계가 악화됨에 따라 양 자간 회담은 지금까지 어느정도 피해왔습니다.

청와대 외교안보 수석, 김규현 수석은 수요일날 정상들은 상호의 쟁점 이슈와 양국간의 관계 향상을 위한 방법 논의의 시간을 가진다고 말했습니다.

김규현 수석은, 2차대전 당시 일본군에 강요된 한국 위안부를 언급하며 “ 논의를 통해 위안부 문제를 포함하는 여러 가지 이슈에 대해 상세한 의견을 교환할 것이라 예상한다 ”  라고 말했습니다.

도쿄에서, 아베 총리는 자신은 한국과 일본 사이의 불화를 만드는 이슈에 대한 솔직한 이야기를 하고 싶어한다고 말했습니다. 의제의 다른 이슈들은 일본 자위대의 한반도 진입, 북핵 문제, 환태평양경제동반자 협정이라 불리는 미국 주도의 무역협정의 참여를 포함합니다.

워싱턴은 오랜 기간 양측 사이의 미묘한 라인을 걸으며, 동아시아의 중요한 동맹국 사이의 관계 회복을 위해 노력했습니다. 한국과 일본사이의 관계는 2012년 12월 아베 총리가 정권을 장악한 이후 냉각되었습니다.

일본 정상은 일본의 잔학한 만행을 덮는 그의 정책 때문에 주변국과 다투어 왔습니다.

S. Korea, Japan to Hold First Summit in 3 Years

SEOUL—

South Korean President Park Geun-hye and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will meet in Seoul Monday for a rare chance at hashing outdifferences face to face.

Officials in Seoul said the two leaders will meet following a trilateraldiscussion on Sunday with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.

It will be the first summit talks between Japanese and South Korean leaders in more than three years.

Park and Abe have met at international events since taking office, but have so far avoided holding bilateral talks due to deteriorating ties between the Asian neighbors.

Kim Kyou-hyun, Park’s top foreign affairs and security aide, told reporters Wednesday the leaders will take their time to fully discuss issues of mutual interests and ways to improve bilateral ties.

“They are expected to exchange in-depth perspectives on a number of issues, including the issue of comfort women,” Kim said in reference toKorean women who were forced into sexual slavery by the Japanese Army during World War II.

Speaking to reporters in Tokyo, Abe said he would like to have candid talks over issues that have created a rift between Seoul and Tokyo.

Other issues on the agenda include conditions for Japanese Self-Defense Forces’ to enter the Korean peninsula, the North Korean nuclear program, and participation at the U.S.-led trade agreement called the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Washington has long sought to mend the ties between its two majorallies in East Asia, walking a delicate line between the two sides. Relations between Seoul and Tokyo have cooled since Abe came to power in December 2012.

The Japanese leader has been at odds with neighboring countries overhis position on Japan’s wartime atrocities. Abe upheld apologies madeby his predecessors over the aggressions, but refused to offer his own apology.
